"Long haul cereal dump truck - Diesel" index intends to observe the evolution of the costs of road transport of bulk agricultural and agri-food products by means of dump semi-trailer trucks, the so-called "cereal dump trucks" or "large volume", during transport operations for hire or reward.

The vast majority of EA grain tipper services are carried out at the maximum authorized load, within the 44-tonne gross vehicle weight limit. These services are not limited to local transport of crops (wheat, potatoes, beet, etc.), but also include long-distance transport of other products throughout the year.

From 2023 onwards, this index extends the “40T cereal tipper” index, which was discontinued in December 2022.
