The unit cost of a school coach, excluding diesel, is projected to rise by an average of +2.9 % annually in 2025. Among the factors contributing to this are driver costs, the dominant component, which are rising by +3.6 %. Over the past two years, cumulative inflation in costs excluding diesel has reached +8.5 %.
For 2026, the CNR forecasts an increase in operating costs for school TRVs, excluding fuel, of +2.7 %. Here again, the predominant factor remains the social component: a rise of 3 % is expected in 2026 for driving staff costs.
